Benefit Payment Dates

Child Benefit Payments dates for 2024: on the 20th of each month, except for December 13, 2024. If the 20th falls on a weekend, you will receive your payment on the Friday.
Goods and services tax / harmonized sales tax (GST/HST) credit: April 5, 2024, July 5, 2024, October 5, 2024, January 5, 2025
Ontario Trillium Benefit (OTB), includes Ontario energy and property tax credit (OEPTC), Northern Ontario energy credit (NOEC) and Ontario sales tax credit (OSTC) payment dates: on the 10th of each month. If the 10th falls on a weekend, you will receive your payment on the Friday (depending on your bank).
Canada Workers Benefit (previously called the Working Income Tax Benefit) - advance payments dates: January 05, 2025, April 05, 2025, July 05, 2025, October 05, 2025
Canada Carbon Rebate (CCR) April 15, 2024 (retroactive, this will be included in July's payment), July 15, 2024, October 15, 2024, January 15, 2025

Ontario Minimum Wages as of October 01, 2024 to September 30, 2025

General minimum wage: $17.20 per hour

Student under 18 minimum wage: $16.20 per hour

CPP Rates & EI Rates for 2023:

In 2024 the new Canada Pension Plan maximum pensionable earning will be $68,500.

• The basic exemption amount for CPP is $3,500.00. The employee and employer contribution has not changed from 5.95% rate in 2023.

• The maximum CPP employee and employer contribution are $3,867.50 and the self-employed maximum is $7,735.00

The 2024 Federal Employment Insurance employee premiums have increased to $1,049.12 and the employer premium is $1,468.77.

• The EI new rate is 1.66%.

• The EI annual insurable earnings have a maximum of $63,200.
